Designed and Built for ProPortion Foods, this project is a 177,330 total square foot meat processing plant renovation.

The 177,330 SF renovation of an existing food distribution facility into a USDA and FDA-certified meat processing plant involved a comprehensive overhaul of both its structure and operational systems. The project introduced a new ammonia refrigeration system, ensuring efficient cooling throughout the facility. In addition to this, a state-of-the-art boiler room was constructed, along with the installation of specialized process equipment to meet the demands of high-volume meat production. The process area was outfitted with insulated metal panel walls to enhance temperature control and improve the facility's overall efficiency.

To support the plant’s operations, new steam, compressed air, and process water systems were integrated. These upgrades ensure that the facility runs with optimal productivity and meets strict sanitary standards. The renovation included the modernization of the existing cold dock and cooler areas, while new blast freezers were built to meet the increasing demands for quick and efficient freezing. Additionally, the facility now includes a maintenance shop and expanded cold and dry goods storage, providing ample space for inventory management.

A significant portion of the renovation focused on creating a 70,040 SF process plant with full wash-down capabilities. This area includes specialized spaces designed to streamline the meat processing workflow, such as a raw meat conditioning room, a cook room, a spice room, and a packaging room. A dedicated ready-to-eat preparation and packaging area ensures that products meet stringent safety and quality standards. The sanitation room provides critical support to maintain hygiene and cleanliness throughout the plant.

The renovation of this facility was aimed at significantly increasing its capacity, compliance, and efficiency. By incorporating the latest in processing technology and safety features, the facility is equipped to handle modern food processing demands while ensuring product safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
