ARCO BREAKS GROUND ON INDUSTRIAL PARK FOR NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT & END-USERS LOWE’S & WAYFAIR

ARCO’s New England division recently celebrated the groundbreaking of two build-to-suit facilities totaling more than 2.5 million square feet for National Development in East Hartford, Connecticut. Strategically located on 300 acres between New York and Boston, the East Hartford Logistics & Technology Park will be home to national retailers Lowe’s and Wayfair. The project will bring up to 1,000 jobs to the region upon completion.

Lowe’s will occupy the 1,300,000 square foot facility within the park as part of its national distribution expansion plan announced in 2020. The distribution center will provide daily shipments of large items such as riding mowers and will supply more than 119 stores across the Northeast. The adjacent 1,215,169 square foot facility will be occupied by Wayfair. The online retailer plans to utilize the space to scale its fulfillment offerings for suppliers and to strengthen the shopping experience for customers throughout New England.
