CraftMark Bakery

Designed and Built for CraftMark Bakery, this project is a 16,600 total square foot processing and freezer/cooler distribution facility addition.

This project involved the expansion of an existing bakery with the addition of a 16,600 SF 65°F cooler, housed under a newly installed insulated metal panel (IMP) ceiling. Two evaporator units were added to ensure efficient temperature control within the cooler, making it suitable for high-demand production environments. The expansion also incorporated several key areas, including a spiral freezer, a minor ingredient room, a dedicated office space, and a quality assurance (QA) lab. Each of these spaces was designed to enhance operational efficiency, streamline processes, and maintain strict food safety standards.

Process utilities were carefully integrated to support the new equipment and spaces, including compressed air systems, hot and cold water lines, chilled water for refrigeration, and sanitary systems. Electrical infrastructure was upgraded to accommodate the increased energy demands of the new freezer and cooler. The new HVAC system was specifically installed to regulate temperatures in both the office and minor ingredient room, ensuring comfortable and controlled environments for staff and ingredients alike.

In terms of access and operational flow, the cooler was equipped with four high-speed doors, enabling efficient movement of goods while maintaining internal temperature. Additionally, the new freezer featured one high-speed door to facilitate quick and controlled access. To further enhance durability and ease of maintenance, the entire floor of the cooler was coated with a urethane finish. This protective coating provides a long-lasting, seamless surface that meets industry standards for hygiene and safety, making the facility well-suited for the rigorous demands of food production.
