ARCO National Construction recently completed a new 83,000 SF cold storage facility in Winchester, Virginia for WCS Logistics, a Winchester Cold Storage Company. Strategically located near the I-81 corridor and the Virginia Inland Port, the state-of-the-art facility offers customers flexible temperature-controlled solutions.
Features include 68,750 SF of freezer space with 43’ clear height, allowing for over 13,000 pallet positions, an 8,750 SF cold dock, 12 dock positions, 48 in-rack blast freeze positions, and a CO2 cascade refrigeration system.
Additional details include a 3,000 SF dry battery charging area with 15 stations, 3,000-amps of electrical service, and a 2,500 SF corporate office.
ARCO navigated several site challenges including the removal of more than 10,000 cubic yards of rock and the relocation of gas and water mains without impacting the project schedule or disrupting adjacent operations.
This project marks WCS Logistics’ fifth location, expanding their portfolio to more than 900,000 SF of space servicing the East Coast.
