ARCO National Construction’s New England division partnered with Marcus Partners and Munters to complete a 435,000 SF manufacturing facility in Amesbury, Massachusetts. The state-of-the-art facility, which serves as Munters’ flagship location, is dedicated to the production of commercial and industrial dehumidification systems.
The project comes in response to growing market demand for the precision temperature and humidity control solutions that Munters provides. As industries such as lithium-ion battery production and food processing continue to grow, this facility will enable Munters to better serve these markets, increasing capacity, improving workflows, and enhancing customer service. The facility houses fabrication, assembly, rotor production, a new R&D lab, and a service training academy. It also includes over 60,000 SF of office space with enhanced amenities for employees.
Munters has operated in Amesbury for over 60 years. By choosing to remain in Amesbury and expand its operations, Munters continues to be the city’s largest employer, reinforcing its central role in the local economy and community. With the new facility, Munters will retain 292 existing jobs and create around 70 new positions, further strengthening its positive impact on the local economy.
This development not only strengthens Munters’ market position but also supports broader environmental goals that benefit both the local and global community. The facility was designed to support Munters’ goal of being Net Zero by 2030, with the electrification of processes and equipment, implementing considerable energy efficiency measures, and obtaining electricity from renewable energy sources. Further, Munters aims for its products to be sustainable so that customers can improve their resource and energy efficiency and create a smaller climate footprint throughout the overall value chain.
