Designed and Built for Principia College, these projects include a 91,000 total square foot new natatorium and training center as well as a 67,000 square foot fitness center renovation.

These two separate projects were completed for a college client, enhancing both their athletic and fitness facilities to better support the needs of students, faculty, and the surrounding community. The projects include the development of a new 91,000 SF training center and natatorium as well as a comprehensive 67,000 SF fitness center renovation. Designed to deliver top-notch training and recreational spaces, these facilities incorporate advanced structural, environmental, and safety features to ensure long-term durability and functionality. Together, they reflect the college's commitment to providing state-of-the-art resources for athletics and wellness programs on campus.

The 91,000 SF training center and natatorium facility is designed to support a wide range of athletic activities with top-tier amenities and durable construction features. This facility includes a 25-meter pool with a dive tank, a 250-meter running track, two full-sized basketball/volleyball courts, and dedicated batting cages. Additionally, track and field areas accommodate varied athletic training needs. The structure incorporates a blend of conventional and pre-engineered framing with a precast and insulated metal wall exterior. The roof features a standing seam with TPO for durability, and Kalwall skylights introduce natural lighting throughout the space, enhancing visibility and energy efficiency.

The nearby 67,000 SF fitness center renovation transformed an outdated natatorium into a vibrant, multi-level fitness space. Renovations included upgrades to locker rooms, the weight room, and administrative offices, along with the addition of a new racquetball court and a designated viewing area. A climbing wall, dance studio, and other training spaces provide diverse options for fitness and recreational activities. Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems were modernized to meet current standards, ensuring a high-functioning, energy-efficient environment for all users.
