Centene Community Ice Center

Designed and Built for Centene Community Ice Center, this project is a 300,000 total square foot ice rink facility.

This state-of-the-art 300,000 SF ice rink facility features four NHL-sized rinks, designed to meet stringent USHL and ACHA standards, with seating capacity and configurations optimized for both events and daily training. The main arena rink, at 85' x 200', seats 3,500 and includes a second-story concourse for unobstructed views and convenient access to seating areas. Supporting the main arena are two indoor practice rinks with seating for 500 and 300, respectively, as well as an outdoor, covered NHL-size rink. The facility’s construction relies on clear-span conventional steel, allowing for large, open spaces without interior columns, and features insulated tilt-up walls with painted reveal and formliner accents for both durability and visual appeal.

Advanced systems provide optimal environmental controls. An ammonia refrigeration system and desiccant dehumidification maintain ice conditions, while energy-efficient LED lighting brightens the space. Visitors enter through a Hall of Honor lobby, setting an iconic tone and assisting with wayfinding. Multiple kitchen and concession areas, a fully equipped pro shop with skate sharpening, and versatile office, party, and conference rooms create an engaging experience for guests and athletes alike.

The facility also includes extensive locker rooms for teams, general use, and staff, as well as a shared ice resurfacer area with dedicated dump pits. Storage and mechanical areas, along with design provisions for live events and multi-use operations, make the facility adaptable for sports and entertainment purposes. This complex seamlessly integrates functionality with modern amenities, making it a premier venue for competitive hockey and multi-purpose events.
