FEDEX GROUND OPENS NEW LEED^® CERTIFIED FACILITY

ARCO National Construction recently completed construction of a 367,000 SF distribution and automated sorting facility for FedEx Ground and repeat client, Scannell Properties in Arcadia, CA. The new distribution facility is LEED^® Silver certified.

Among other positive environmental factors, the facility will provide a 54% reduction in building energy use and a 70% reduction of outdoor potable water use. Additionally, nearly 90% of construction waste was diverted from landfills.

Other construction features include tilt-up concrete construction, 5,000 SF office space with 1,000 SF technology room, hybrid roof structure, 5,600 SF vehicle maintenance garage and 101 dock positions. Construction also included 48 acres of site development within a reclaimed rock quarry.
