Cleaver Brooks

Designed and built for Cleaver Brooks, this project is a 40,000-square-foot addition to an existing boiler manufacturing facility.

This project consists of an approximately 40,000 SF addition to an existing boiler manufacturing facility, designed to support heavy industrial fabrication and finishing operations. The expansion includes a 52-foot clear height with a 40-foot hook height at the main crane bay and 25 SF x 95 SF interior bays to accommodate large-scale equipment and material flow. The structure utilizes a pre-engineered metal building system with wall and roof panels and is supported by an 8-inch-thick reinforced concrete floor slab engineered for heavy loads.

The crane bay is equipped with crane rails and power supply for two 100-ton overhead bridge cranes, along with 30 SF x 30 SF and 25 SF x 25 SF overhead cooling steel doors located at each end of the bay. The facility includes a 65-foot-long by 30-foot-wide by 30-foot-high paint booth, supported by a wet fire protection system serving the paint booth, breakroom, and restrooms. Additional support spaces include a shop breakroom and restrooms, a compressor room with compressors and dryers, and a reclaim equipment room dedicated to paint booth operations.

Process systems within the crane bay include hydro water, compressed air, and gas loop systems consisting of natural gas and oxygen, each with distribution drops at structural columns to support fabrication processes. Electrical infrastructure includes a 2,000-amp electrical service addition, coordinated with crane power, process equipment, and building systems. The addition was engineered to integrate seamlessly with the existing manufacturing facility while supporting high-capacity lifting, finishing, and industrial process requirements.
