ARCO National Construction recently joined Chelsea Building Products, Inc. in celebrating the grand opening of its new 228,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. Located within the Commerce Crossing at Westmoreland industrial park, the build-to-suit facility was developed to support Chelsea Building Products’ continued growth and expand production capabilities for PVC-based window and door profiles.
Designed for long-term operational efficiency and future expansion, the facility features insulated precast wall construction with structural steel framing, a 32-foot clear height, and 100-foot by 50-foot production bays. The building also includes ten fully equipped dock positions, one drive-thru door, a 10,000 amp electrical service, and LED high-bay lighting designed to provide 25 foot-candles throughout production areas.
The facility was constructed with access to a nearby freight rail spur, allowing for efficient importing of raw materials and strengthening overall supply chain capabilities. Additional systems include ventilation designed for one air change per hour, a 60-mil white TPO roof system, and an ESFR fire protection system. The project was also planned to accommodate a future expansion of approximately 170,000 square feet.
