ARCO National Construction recently celebrated the grand opening of Saval Foodservice’s new specialty produce and meat division, 1932 Specialty Produce & Meat. Located in Elkridge, Maryland, the 33,000 SF box-in-a-box retrofit includes a multi-temperature cooler for produce storage, a state-of-the-art cut steak production room to triple capacity, and a new culinary center for customers to work with the company’s executive chef on menu development and training.

ARCO’s extensive knowledge and experience in the cold storage industry proved to be valuable in executing Saval Foodservice’s vision for their growing business.

Additional features include a 45°F cold dock, four cold dock positions, 28’ clear height, and split freon refrigeration systems.

``Saval Foodservice recently partnered with ARCO National Construction on a 33,000 square foot cold storage renovation project to accommodate operations for our newest business division, 1932 Specialty Produce & Meat. From start to finish, ARCO’s knowledge and experience in these types of projects was beneficial. It was clear that their team was committed to fully understanding our needs and providing us with a finished facility that worked for our growing business.

The project included “box-in-a-box” construction within an existing warehouse, a multi-temperature cooler for produce storage, a state-of-the-art cut steak production room to triple capacity, and a new culinary center for customers to work with our executive chef on menu development and training. It also required modification of utilities in existing coolers to accommodate our specialized meat processing operations and the construction of a cold dock.

ARCO also worked proactively to navigate supply chain issues and ensure that our project was completed on time. Because they are a design-builder, they were able to release long lead time equipment early in the process. This helped us avoid delays and meet the project schedule.
