Weston Development

Designed and built for Weston Development, this project is a 160,000-square-foot cold storage facility.

This project consists of an approximately 160,000 SF cold storage facility designed for low-temperature, high-capacity operations. The building includes a 120,000 SF -10°F freezer, a 20,000 SF 34°F cold dock, a 10,000 SF maintenance and battery charging area, and a 4,000 SF office area, supporting both operational and administrative functions. The facility is designed with a 36-foot clear height to accommodate high-density racking and efficient material handling.

The structure is supported by concrete footings and foundations and incorporates a glycol underfloor heating system to protect slab performance in freezer areas. Dock operations are supported by sixteen dock positions, one drive-in ramp, and continuous pits with vertical storing dock levelers to improve safety and loading efficiency. Electrical capacity is provided through a 3,000-amp electrical service, sized to support refrigeration, material handling, and auxiliary systems.

Thermal performance is achieved with 8 inches of insulation at freezer areas and 6 inches of insulation at the cold dock. The roof assembly consists of a 60-mil mechanically attached TPO roofing system, supporting durability and long-term weather resistance. Refrigeration equipment is housed in ALTA rooftop penthouse units, allowing efficient system layout and service access. The facility was engineered to support demanding cold storage operations with a focus on durability, efficiency, and long-term performance.
