ARCO National Construction is proud to recognize Kyle Wood, Director of Business Development for ARCO National Construction | Albany, for being named one of New York Real Estate Journal’s 2026 Ones to Watch – Rising Stars.

Since helping launch ARCO’s Albany office, Kyle has played an integral role in expanding the firm’s presence throughout the Capital Region and Upstate New York, bringing a strong client-service mindset, technical expertise, and deep understanding of ARCO’s design-build approach to each opportunity. His recognition reflects ARCO’s continued commitment to building high-performing local teams that deliver value for clients and support growth in emerging markets.

What accomplishment or project so far in your career are you most proud of?

I’m most proud of relocating to Albany to help launch ARCO’s newest office and expand our presence throughout Upstate New York. In a close-knit community like Albany, everything is centered around relationships, trust, and reputation. Our goal is to bring unique value with our design-build process and contribute to the growth of the Capital Region and beyond. Seeing our efforts translate into meaningful opportunities and a growing presence in the region has been incredibly rewarding. We are proud to have multiple projects under construction, and several exciting projects on the horizon.

What trends or opportunities do you see shaping the future of your industry?

The rapid advancement of technology is driving unprecedented demand for highly automated manufacturing, advanced technology, and mission-critical facilities. Meanwhile, government funding and incentive programs are accelerating investment in sectors such as semiconductors, clean energy, and life sciences. These projects extend beyond a single building. They create entire ecosystems that include suppliers, housing, retail, offices, and infrastructure. I believe the communities that attract and support these developments will experience transformative economic growth over the next decade.

Who has been a mentor or influential figure in your career, and what is the most valuable advice they have shared with you?

Jason Grant has been one of the most influential people in my career. He has empowered me to take risks, trust my judgment, and pursue opportunities outside my comfort zone. Jason has taught me to be decisive and take ownership of outcomes. He’s encouraged me to ask thoughtful questions before offering solutions. He leads by example and has shown our team how to build a winning culture while developing the next generation of leaders. Our mission in Albany is to mirror his work ethic and build a high-performing team, just like ARCO has done in New England and other markets across the country.

What inspired you to pursue a career in your industry, and what path brought you to your current role?

As the second half of the year begins, ARCO’s New England team is continuing to monitor the factors that most directly influence whether projects can move forward efficiently. Utility availability, entitlement processes, infrastructure constraints, and site readiness remain key considerations across New England.

Capital markets are also influencing development decisions, particularly as owners evaluate new construction against renovation, repositioning, and adaptive reuse opportunities. These conditions will continue to shape project strategies and help determine where momentum builds through the remainder of the year.
