ARCO National Construction has completed Morton Amphitheater, Live Nation Entertainment’s new 16,000-seat outdoor venue in Riverside, Missouri. Designed to serve as the Midwest’s premier live music destination, the venue is expected to welcome more than 500,000 fans annually and establish the Kansas City region as a major stop for touring artists and large-scale entertainment events.
Developed on a 165-acre site, Morton Amphitheater represents Live Nation’s largest and most complex project in more than 20 years. The project required extensive site development, including the import of more than 360,000 cubic yards of soil and the construction of a fully integrated entertainment campus within a levee-protected property.
The venue features an earth-retained auditorium bowl with fixed seating covered by a 100,000-square-foot canopy, creating a premier concert experience for both artists and guests. Supporting amenities include 13 auxiliary buildings housing a VIP club, Concession Village, speed bars, box office, administrative functions, and other guest services designed to support high-volume events.
Extensive infrastructure was incorporated throughout the site, including 6,000 parking stalls, 40 trailer and tour bus parking spaces, and 10 dock positions to accommodate touring productions and event operations. Additional improvements include turnkey landscaping and irrigation, stadium-style parking lot lighting, a CCTV system, custom lighting and controls, two 4,000 amp electrical services, and TPO roofing systems throughout the campus.
The amphitheater is supported by an MSE Redi-Rock retaining wall system and was carefully engineered to meet the operational demands of a world-class entertainment venue while providing long-term durability and flexibility.
