FOODSERVICE DISTRIBUTION FACILITY IN ENFIELD, CT
Designed and built for Winstanley Enterprises, the Agri-Mark warehouse is a 501,500-total-square-foot freezer/cooler distribution facility.
This 501,500 SF cold storage facility is designed for optimal temperature-controlled storage and efficient logistics. It includes a 176,500 SF warehouse, along with specialized areas such as a 34,700 SF 0°F freezer, a 21,000 SF 35°F cooler, and a 6,100 SF 45°F cold dock. Additional spaces include a 19,300 SF dry dock and a 3,400 SF office area.
The building is constructed with tilt-up concrete and a conventional steel structure, supported by continuous and spread footing foundations. With a 32-foot clear height, the facility is designed for high-density storage. It has 57 dock positions and two drive-in ramps for efficient loading and unloading operations. The facility is accessed through two main entries and powered by two 3,000-amp electrical services.
The roof features a 60-mil TPO system with R-30 insulation for energy efficiency. A transcritical CO2 refrigeration system provides advanced, eco-friendly cooling throughout the facility. The fire protection system complies with FM Global standards and includes one diesel-powered fire pump for added safety.
This cold storage facility is built for large-scale distribution, incorporating modern systems and efficient design to meet the demands of temperature-sensitive logistics.
