Midwest Coast Brewing Company

Designed and built for Midwest Coast Brewing Company, this project is a 15,000-total-square-foot craft brewery renovation in Chicago, IL.

This project consists of an approximately 15,000 SF craft brewery renovation converting an existing facility into a fully integrated tap room, tavern, tasting room, and brew house. The scope was designed to support both public-facing hospitality functions and active brewing operations within a single, coordinated space.

Interior renovations include installation of glass partitions and a glass overhead door within the brewery to separate production from public areas while maintaining visibility. The space features exposed wood truss ceilings and stained and polished concrete floors throughout, providing durable finishes suited for high-traffic and wet-process environments. A new glass entry vestibule was constructed to improve circulation and climate control.

Vertical circulation upgrades included installation of a new elevator and reconfiguration of existing stair systems to meet accessibility and code requirements. Operational improvements include a high-speed overhead door to support brewing deliveries and material handling. The project also included a full brewing equipment package and process piping design coordinated specifically for brewery operations.

Hospitality components include two full-service bars, a dedicated dart board area, and LED lighting fixtures installed throughout to improve efficiency and visibility. Exterior improvements included new paving at the side parking lot to support customer and service access. The renovation was executed to integrate production, service, and customer experience while maintaining durability, code compliance, and operational efficiency.
