ARCO National Construction has completed a 300,000-square-foot cold storage facility tenant improvement for Holganix in Kansas City, Missouri. The project included a 120,000-square-foot cooler retrofit designed to support expanded temperature-controlled storage and operational efficiency.

The scope of work included the construction of four 30,000-square-foot 40°F cooler rooms within the existing warehouse footprint. The facility features a 40-foot clear height and incorporates insulated metal panels to create high-performance thermal enclosures.

The upgraded infrastructure includes an A2L Freon refrigeration system engineered to support consistent temperature control across all cooler spaces. Additional improvements include the installation of 350 linear feet of catwalk and trench drain in the primary assembly aisle to support maintenance access and operational functionality.

ARCO also installed 24 high-speed 12-foot by 10-foot door assemblies to enhance workflow efficiency and minimize temperature loss between spaces. The project included the integration of new 2,000 amp electrical service to support the refrigeration systems and facility operations.

Delivered on an accelerated schedule, the project enhances Holganix’s cold storage capabilities while maintaining performance, durability, and operational flexibility within the existing warehouse environment.
