Designed and built for Scannell Properties, the FedEx Ground warehouse is a 362,000-total-square-foot manual package sorting facility.
This 362,000 SF manual package sorting facility is optimized for efficient package handling and logistics. This comprehensive development is designed to meet the demands of modern logistics while maintaining a focus on sustainability and productivity.
Key infrastructure components include both interior and exterior LED light fixtures, providing energy-efficient lighting throughout the facility. An on-site sewer treatment system has been implemented to manage wastewater effectively, while an infrared warehouse heating system ensures optimal temperature control for the sorting environment.
The facility utilizes tilt-up construction techniques, allowing for durable and quick assembly. Large site retaining walls have been constructed to support the site's topography, while subsurface stormwater infiltration systems are in place to manage runoff effectively and minimize environmental impact.
The project also involved significant site preparation, including 550,000 cubic yards of on-site rock blasting and crushing, which provided necessary materials for the construction process. The roof structure is designed to accommodate solar panels, and the electrical system is configured for future integration of renewable energy sources.
Located in a cul-de-sac, the facility features ample parking capacity, with space for 604 cars and 476 trailers, facilitating smooth operations and logistics management. Adjacent to the main facility is a 4,100 SF Gateway Security Building, ensuring secure access and monitoring.
