ARCO National Construction’s Kansas City division recently partnered with Mies Family Foods to build a new, state-of-the-art 78,664 SF cold storage facility in Kansas City, Kansas. As a leading wholesale distributor of fresh and frozen beef, pork, poultry, and additional food products, Mies Family Foods expanded its operations to meet increasing demand while significantly upgrading its distribution capabilities. The new facility more than triples the company’s current capacity.
The state-of-the-art facility features a 41,000 SF 0°F freezer, a 13,500 SF 38°F cold dock, and an 8,000 SF 36°F cooler. Additional facility features include insulated tilt-up construction with insulated metal panels in the freezer and cold dock spaces, 32’ clear height, 10 cold dock positions, and one drive-in ramp.
The project relocated Mies Family Foods’ operations and current employees from North Kansas City, Missouri to Kansas City, Kansas.
