ARCO National Construction recently completed construction of a 156,000-square-foot cold storage facility for Atlantic Food Distributors, a family-owned and independently operated supplier of high-quality food products. Located at 5571 Global Gateway in North Canton, the facility is strategically positioned with direct access to the Akron-Canton Airport and I-77, enhancing Atlantic’s ability to serve restaurants, schools, and retailers across Ohio and surrounding regions.
The project transformed an existing structure into a modern cold storage and distribution hub. Key features include a state-of-the-art freon refrigeration system, nearly 50,000 square feet of cooler and freezer space, a 13,000-square-foot 40°F cold dock, and 19,000 square feet of dry storage. Designed for maximum efficiency, the new facility expands Atlantic Food Distributors’ capacity while optimizing logistics for a broader range of fresh, frozen, and dry goods.
Additional facility features include box-in-a-box insulated metal panel construction, 17 dock positions, a 35-foot warehouse clear height, and 25-foot cooler and freezer clear heights.
