NEW AMAZON FACILITY COMPLETED BY ARCO CREATES 1,200+ LOCAL JOBS
_______________
ARCO recently completed a 612,833 SF facility for repeat clients Scannell Properties and Amazon! Located in Greenwood, Indiana, the cross-dock distribution facility will serve as an Amazon “receive center” where items will be packaged, processed and then shipped to fulfillment centers within the Amazon network. The new facility is expected to create more than 1,200 jobs in the local market.
Positioned on a nearly 78-acre site about a half a mile from Interstate 65, the Amazon facility is adding to the growing industrial market in the Indianapolis metro area, creating jobs throughout neighboring counties and the south side of Indianapolis. The addition of this large number of new jobs is expected to have a trickle down effect of resources throughout the entire local economy including the housing market and beyond.
One of just a few “receive centers” throughout the U.S., the Greenwood Amazon location will support customer fulfillment by taking in large orders of the types of inventory expected to sell quickly. The facility’s cross-dock design will allow for efficient transfer of incoming products from vendors and suppliers to outgoing delivery trucks with little to no storage time in-between. The facility also features state-of-the-art automation technology, further decreasing delivery lead time, as well as more than 40,000 SF of finished office space and a fully-conditioned warehouse.
This is the third distribution facility ARCO has completed for Amazon, with three additional projects currently under construction and in-design. We are proud to be part of this incredible project team and look forward to many more successful projects!
